On 14th and 15th May we launched Applesecco at the Ludlow Spring Festival. Our new look for Discovery Cider went down very well with the thousands of visitors that flocked to the castle on a gorgeous May weekend.
Oldfields Applesecco describes a sparkling cider that is made with eating apples and is lighter and crisper than a traditional cider, with a flavour of apple rather than cider. It is also 'secco' - and name often used to describe a dry drink- with a wonderfully appley nose and flavour but a pleasant dry, clean finish. It was a huge hit and many people came to find us after seeing articles in the local press and radio and judging by sales they gave it a real thumbs up!
On 30th May Oldfields sponsored the 50th Bridgnorth Walk. To celebrate their golden anniversary we gave a bottle of our own prize winning Medium Sweet Cider to every walker at the finish line. The walkers did amazingly well, raising thousands of pounds for many local charities. They all looked tired but exhilarated after 22 miles to Brown Clee hill and back, and all thoroughly deserved their refreshing cider when they crossed the finish line.
